Living Light Culinary Institute, a gourmet raw vegan school in northern California, announces the Living Light Chef Showcase: Hot Chefs, Cool Kitchen, streaming online from September 5-16, 2011. Twelve professional gourmet raw food chefs will demonstrate a total of 80 raw vegan recipes for 12 consecutive days. Virtual “attendees” will be able to watch step-by-step demos filmed with state of the art camera close-ups in Living Light's professional culinary studio, and will also receive a complete eBook of all the recipes from the live event, which takes place at Living Light Culinary Institute in Fort Bragg, California on August 26-28. During the Living Light Chef Showcase online event, each of the 12 chefs will perform two 40-minute demos that repeat for 24 hours on his or her scheduled day, beginning at Midnight Pacific Daylight Time on September 5. In addition, there will be a live question and answer period from 6:00 to 7:00 PM PDT on each of the twelve days, with either the featured chef of the day, or Living Light Director Cherie Soria. Various viewing packages are available for the online event, including a 90-day viewing option, and a DVD upgrade.
“We know that nearly everyone is looking for a way to improve health and well-being,“ says Soria. “ The Living Light Chef Showcase online event makes it easy to learn from well-trained professional raw food chefs, whether you are at home, or on the go. You can watch anywhere you take your laptop or mobile device.”
Among the featured chefs are Soria, author of The Raw Food Revolution Diet, and Cristina Archila, winner of Living Light’s Hot Raw Chef 5 in 5 Video Recipe Contest. Judita Wignall, actress, musician, and author of a new recipe book, Going Raw, and Colleen Cackowski, an award-winning raw chocolatier, and creator of the Erewhon Natural Foods Market line of raw food products will also present. Brian James Lucas aka Chef BeLive, whose e-Book Orgasm of the Taste Buds was included in this year’s Academy Awards® gift bags, will showcase his recipes, and other chefs include Culinary Institute of America graduates Alicia Ojeda from Austin, Texas, and Vinnette Thompson, who teaches Pastry Arts—Unbaked! at Living Light. The school’s culinary programs manager Martine Lussier is on the roster, and Amy Bacheller, M.Ed, NC, CMT, will demonstrate the health and flavor enhancing properties of essential oils in raw cuisine. Stephanie Raya, "Chef Steph" specializes in healthy kid friendly recipes, and raw nutritional science expert Dr. Karin Dina, D.C. will focus on maximizing the nutritional value of recipes.
“We’ve been known as ‘teachers of teachers’ since 1998,” says Soria. “Living Light has attracted students from all over the world—more than 50 countries so far—and they all come to learn how to make raw food taste great. We wanted to create an educational event for those who don’t have the time or money to travel, and our online showcase is the perfect solution.”
Cherie Soria founded Living Light Culinary Institute fourteen years ago, and has seen the school grow from a small “traveling school”, teaching workshops at spas and retreat centers, to its current international status. The Living Light Chef Showcase: Hot Chefs, Cool Kitchen online event will share the expertise of twelve professional raw food chefs September 5-16, 2011.
Living Light International has four eco-friendly businesses on the Mendocino coast of Northern California: Living Light Culinary Institute, Living Light Café, Living Light Marketplace, and Living Light Inn. The Living Light Chef Showcase takes place every fourth weekend in August.
