ZCorum Runs Video Contest with SCTE Trip as Prize

ZCorum is asking their customers to show them some love in a new video contest that will give the winner a trip to the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Cable-Tec Expo 2011 in Atlanta, GA. In the contest, users of TruVizion, which is ZCorum’s web-based software for cable modem diagnostics, would create a short video explaining or demonstrating why they love the software.

In addition to airfare and lodging, the winner will receive $500 in spending money, dinner for two at a local restaurant, and a new hand-held video camera to capture the experience. Those entering the contest can also show their favorite ZCorum employee some love by listing their name when they submit the video. If their video wins, the ZCorum employee will also win $500 cash, dinner and a video camera. The SCTE show runs November 15th through the 17th, and is in ZCorum’s home turf this year at the Georgia World Congress Center.

According to Arthur Skinner, ZCorum’s Vice President of Sales and Business Development, TruVizion has some unique features that set it apart from other diagnostic solutions, and that give its users some good reasons to brag a bit. “Unlike products that show only what’s happening right now, we provide up to 90 days of historical data on any cable modem, as well as on the upstream and downstream channels.” Skinner also said with one click users can view key CMTS metrics on a single screen, plus generate an interactive map that displays specific modems based on their on-line status, type of RF Alert, or the Node or Active Leg they are connected to. “Our customers have used features like these to significantly reduce truck-rolls, improve the level of customer service they provide and make improvements in their cable plant. We’re looking forward to seeing how some of our users will tell their story in this video contest.”

ZCorum will pick the top five videos, and then others will have an opportunity to vote on-line for their favorite video to determine the winner from the top five. TruVizion users can read contest rules and submit a video on the TruVizion Website, and can also view some sample videos ZCorum staff made to help get those creative juices flowing.
