Despite a Challenging Economy, Company Achieves Dramatic Revenue Growth and Continues to Provide an Ideal Workplace

Edifecs Inc., a leader in healthcare software solutions, has racked up multiple awards in 2011, with the latest coming from national and local business media to recognize the company’s dramatic revenue growth. Inc. magazine, Healthcare Informatics and the Puget Sound Business Journal have all recently named Edifecs to their annual rankings, bringing attention to the company’s burgeoning leadership in the healthcare IT marketplace.

Edifecs’ most recent awards include:

  •      Inc. 5000 -- Edifecs ranked 1194th on this year’s Inc. 5000 List, which acknowledges the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. This is Edifecs’ third year on the list, with the company moving up from 2301st on the list in 2009 and 1983rd on the list in 2010.
  •      Healthcare Informatics 100 – In its first appearance on this list, Edifecs ranked 86th on the Healthcare publication’s list of the top 100 healthcare IT vendors nationwide.
  •      Puget Sound Business Journal 50 Eastside Fastest-Growing Private Companies – Edifecs ranked 9th on the listing of the 50 fastest-growing private companies located east of Seattle. This is the first year the publication has compiled a list focused solely on eastside companies.

Since January, Edifecs has received several other awards, including the 2011 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Pacific Northwest, honoring Edifecs’ CEO Sunny Singh in the technology category. Earlier this summer, Seattle Business Magazine named Edifecs one of Washington’s Best Companies to Work For, ranking the company 12th among mid-size companies. Around the same time, the Puget Sound Business Journal named Edifecs to its 100 Best Workplaces list.

As multiple government regulations affect the healthcare industry, Edifecs has taken advantage of healthcare organizations’ changing technology requirements. The company now has nearly 575 customers, including 44 Blues health insurers, 47 commercial health insurers and 71 medical organizations. In the past three years, Edifecs’ revenue has increased by 179 percent, and its string of awards and explosive growth demonstrates the company’s acumen for continued success and steady contribution to the Pacific Northwest’s and nation’s economy.

Looking forward, the company has positioned itself as an ideal technology partner to help the healthcare industry eliminate waste and reduce administrative costs. The United States spends more on healthcare than any other country in the world, but has not seen a corresponding improvement in the quality of care. It’s a problem that will easily take years to fix, even under the best circumstances. By leveraging its supply chain expertise in other industries to streamline information processing in healthcare, Edifecs has brought much-needed innovation to the healthcare reform effort, and its growth is likely to continue outpacing the nation’s economy overall.

“Edifecs’ mission is to transform the administrative side of healthcare by streamlining the flow of information among healthcare organizations and eliminating the errors and manual processes that continue to drive costs skyward. We have grown into an innovative and thriving business dedicated to improving economic conditions in our community as well,” said Sunny Singh, CEO of Edifecs. “We are humbled and honored to be recognized as a healthcare technology company that has achieved outstanding levels of growth and success both in the state of Washington and nationally.”
