Tips on finding and keeping great jobs plus personal enrichment will be offered at a free “Continuing Education and Career Showcase” from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 8, at the University of California San Diego, Price Center Ballroom East.
“San Diego’s innovation economy creates and will continue to create good jobs, but people with the right skills these jobs require are increasingly in short supply,” says Vicki Krantz, chair of the UC San Diego Extension Academic Directors Council. “A big part of the solution for job seekers and those who want to advance in their career is to better align their education and training with the needs of today’s employers.”
Career and enrichment workshops led by UC San Diego Extension faculty will include:

- Career Management for Professionals
- Essential Skills for a Career in Healthcare
- Improv Acting Workshop: Finding Your Funny Bone
- The Data Rush: Expanding Opportunities in Science and Technology Data Mining
- Creative Careers in Photography: From Fine Art to Commercial Design
Panelists include industry experts from the fields of green/sustainability, acting and theatre, information technology, engineering, finance, healthcare, project management, adult education, and video games, as well as experts in career development.
