The FT822 Integrated Circuit provides a low cost single chip controller solution which will enable high growth application like commercial and industrial lighting, architecture detail lighting and street lamp lighting.

Fremont Micro Devices USA Inc. President Alex Woo announced the introduction of the FT882, a current mode LED driver integrated circuit. The device provides a controlled output regulator to achieve natural power factor correction. The highly linear multiplier makes the device capable of working with a wide input voltage range from 85V to 265V.

“The FT822 adds to the growing portfolio of Fremont Micro Devices LED lighting solutions,” said Alex Woo, President of Fremont Micro Devices USA. “The device provides a low cost single chip controller solution which will enable high growth application like commercial and industrial lighting, architecture detail lighting and street lamp lighting he added.”

Of particular importance is the FT822 low power consumption, 60uA before start up and 4mA operating. Additionally the device includes a disable function suitable for remote on/off control. The FT822 is available in a DIP-8 and SOP-8 package. The list price is $0.45 for volume orders of 2.5ku.
