TourMillion.com, a social media and travel site operated by Reserve 123 has announced that it will be donating a percentage of all site revenue to Hawaii Foodbank. “We felt that it was important to give back to a community that is such an integral market in the tourism industry. Hawaii Foodbank is a great organization that is doing incredible things for those in need in the state of Hawaii,” says The Tour Million’s founder Ryan Windsor.

The website recently launched and has already filled over 15% of the available ad space on its one million pixel site in a matter of weeks. The hunger statistics in Hawaii are startling. According to Hunger in America 2010, over 14% (up 39% from 2006) of Hawaii’s population is receiving emergency food assistance from the Hawaii Foodbank’s network and this number is only growing higher as the economy worsens. Hawaii Foodbank is considered to be one of Hawaii’s most prominent charities and has been referred to as Hawaii’s number one charity by Hawaii Business Magazine. In July, they distributed 930,439 pounds of food throughout the state of Hawaii, and 95% of the funds they raise are used to support programs to feed the hungry.
