Green Energy Corp, a Colorado-based software company that enables traditional and emerging power providers to move to the Smart Grid, today announced that it will host a full day MultiSpeak® training session, open to investor owned, municipal and cooperative power utilities, smart grid vendors, software integrators and consultants.
The MultiSpeak® Integrator Training will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., MDT, at The Ranch Country Club, 11887 Tejon Street, Westminster, CO 80234. Attendees will learn the technical make up and interoperability benefits of implementing the MultiSpeak® specification within diverse electric grid automation systems.
“We thank Green Energy Corp for hosting and sponsoring this technical training,” said Robert Saint, P.E., Principal Engineer for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). “Their GreenBus platform implementation of MultiSpeak® will be of great benefit to smart grid application providers and utilities.”
The workshop will be conducted by Gary McNaughton, P.E., Vice President of Cornice Engineering. It will cover MultiSpeak® version 3.0, which has been implemented at utilities since 2005, and the new Version 4.1 of the MultiSpeak® specification. Version 4.1 adds UML class model support, work management interfaces, updated staking interfaces, transmission power system modeling, detailed exchange of engineering catalog data and support for additional smart grid technologies. Participants who complete the class and pass an exam will achieve the designation “MultiSpeak® Integrator”.
“NRECA’s MultiSpeak specification is an industry-wide standard that addresses interoperability within diverse operations, automation and business applications,” said Glenn Booth, Vice President of Marketing for Green Energy Corp. “Our collaboration with MultiSpeak reflects our commitment to open standards.”
