HPMI to hold much needed blood donation drive

Did you know that one pint of blood can save three lives? This time of year blood banks run low and due to the holiday weekend the demand is expected to increase.

HPMI (Holistic Pain Management Institute) will co-sponsor their first blood drive with Blood Centers of the Pacific this Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 1850 S. 10th St., in San Jose.

“Come down and be a hero,” said Van Hovey, founder of HPMI, “and save a life.”

Besides receiving vouchers for a pint of Baskin-Robbins ice cream, all donors will receive a movie ticket courtesy of Blood Centers of the Pacific, and a thank you barbeque provided by HPMI.
Blood Centers of the Pacific supplies blood to more than 40 hospitals in the Bay Area and is the sole supplier to Children's Oakland Hospital.

For more information call HPMI at (408) 280-7551 or go online at http://www.bloodheroes.com click “donate blood” and enter sponsor code HPMI to sign up. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins are welcome.
