“The release of Revolution Armor and related patent filings represents the end result of a 2 year effort to develop a low cost replacement for ceramic composite armor. We are extremely pleased to have reached our goal and this moment.

Incident Control Systems, LLC (ICS) announced today that it has released Revolution Armor to the vehicle and structural armor markets after 2 years in development. Revolution Armor is a new generation of composite armor and represents the latest in armor material technology.

The patent pending composite utilizes an innovative steel alloy that features extremely pure alloying elements that are transformed into ultra high hard steel that performs like a hard ceramic strike face, but without the high cost associated with ceramic armor.

Revolution Armor has been shown in independent laboratory testing to defeat the typical Light Tactical Vehicle threats at areal densities usually reserved for high cost ceramic composite armor designs. When tested against AP and non-AP small arms threats, Revolution Armor consistently outperforms Rolled Homogenous Armor and High Hard Steel on a pound for pound basis. Fragment simulating projectile testing has shown Revolution to perform exceptionally well.

Revolution Armor exhibits exceptional multi-hit properties for all types of threats, unlike ceramic tiles which fracture and shatter under multiple impacts. Revolution Armor can easily withstand impacts as close as a couple of inches.

“The release of Revolution Armor and related patent filings represents the end result of a 2 year effort to develop a low cost replacement for ceramic composite armor. We are extremely pleased to have reached our goal and this moment. With Revolution, Survivability engineers now have the latest in steel and composite technology to use in their life saving missions”, stated ICS President Steve Monette Jr.

ICS will continue to market REVOLUTION ARMOR as a solution to replace ceramic composites and overweight metallic solutions.
