Workshop attendees will take participate in cutting edge discussion about the current state of mathematics in industry as well as innovative trends of mathematics in academic institutions. Those interested in creating mathematics related Professional Science Masters will take home best practices for the development of successful programs.

This workshop’s focus is “Creating Tomorrow’s Mathematics Professionals.” Keynote Speakers are Sheila Tobias, National Professional Science Master’s Association Advisory Board; William Kolata, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics; Birgit Schoeberl, Merrimack Pharmaceuticals; Myles Boylan and Carol Stoel, National Science Foundation; Lillian Wu, IBM.

Workshop session topics include “Showcase of Mathematics PSM Programs”, “Current Mathematics Trends and Partnerships Between Academia, Industry, Business and Government”, “Case Studies of Mathematicians in Non Academic Careers”, and “Professional Skills and Internships for Mathematicians”.
