Gorilla’s goal throughout the design process was to convey the unmatched Frette quality and style to both longtime customers and those experiencing the brand for the first time. This included the need to weave the company’s progressively modern aesthetics with their storied 150 year history. To accomplish this, Gorilla implemented a design concept that incorporates vivid, full-page imagery across the home page and key product category pages, resulting in a larger-than-life interaction with the brand. This extends to the individual product level. Here, Gorilla introduced interactive elements that allow users to pan and zoom across product images, allowing every nuance of the intricate patterns and luxurious fabrics, which are the signature of the Frette product line, to show through.
Behind the scenes, Gorilla took numerous steps to refine and enhance the front-end user experience. Key elements from their previous site were retained, such as the ability to merchandise grouped, configurable products and integration with the multichannel retailer’s Celerant ERP system, while other site elements were completely rethought. Site navigation was reorganized to simplify product discovery. The solution also includes an Authorize.net CIM integration, which securely stores payment information and maintains full PCI compliance, making checkout for returning customers a hassle-free process.
