Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) September 05, 2011
The Renaissance Blackstone Hotel, located on 636 South Michigan Avenue, is offering bonus Marriott Rewards points for stays at the hotel and group bookings for meetings. Through 2011, all the customer has to do is say, “Put it on Capone’s Tab” for 1,000 bonus points on a night’s stay or double points including a free reception in the Blackstone’s Art Hall when booking a group or meeting.
The hotel is known for its connections to the Chicago mob and as a frequent hang out for Al Capone and his gang. It’s rumored that Charles Lucky Luciano gathered a group of gangsters for the first “Crime Convention” at the Blackstone Hotel, to split up power among all the mob bosses.
Capone frequented the hotel’s barbershop so often that the movie The Untouchables was filmed in the Blackstone. Now the hotel is coming after the mob for a small favor.
Customers staying at the Renaissance Blackstone who tell the front desk to “Put it on Capone’s Tab” upon check-in to the hotel will receive 1,000 bonus Marriott Rewards Points through the rest of the 2011.
Meetings that are booked in one of the hotel’s nine meeting rooms are eligible for double Marriott Rewards Points, awarded to the party booking the meeting and will also be offered a complimentary reception prior to the meeting in the Art Hall, the Blackstone’s 5th floor art gallery that houses works from local students and artists.
