San Diego - California (PRWEB) September 03, 2011
On October 1st, Recycle San Diego will host its 300th free eWaste collection event at 8222 Ronson Road, San Diego 92111. The public is invited to bring any amount of accepted eWaste to be recycled for free.
As part of a commitment to making e-recycling easier, Recycle San Diego has been holding these free Saturday eWaste events throughout San Diego County since 2006.
“Much of our success results from strong community response to these drop-off events,” says Jeffrey Harding, founder and president. “For the past six years we’ve collected an average of 20,000 pounds of eWaste per event, and held five events per month . . . well, you do the math.” 7.2 million pounds.
These Saturday drop-off recycling events, held at various locations, are free to all California residents wanting to safely dispose of their unwanted consumer electronics. For the schedule, visit our eWaste Recycling Events page.
eWaste accepted for free includes components and systems for computers, televisions, entertainment, music and gaming, and all phones. For a complete list including nominal fees for other eWaste, visit our electronics recycling webpage.
Please note that non-rechargeable batteries and household appliances (fridges, stoves, washers, dryers, microwaves, fans, light fixtures) cannot be accepted at free drop-off events.
