"We are thrilled to have the participation of YesAsia.com and YesStyle.com as part of this year’s festival,” said Barbara Lee, founder and president of VAFF. “Their support as joint sponsors will help us recognize filmmakers and help bring an exciting array of independent and commercial films produced by Asian-Canadians and Asian-
Americans to people in Metro Vancouver.” Joshua Lau, CEO and founder of YesAsia.com and YesStyle.com added: “YesAsia.com and YesStyle.com are pleased to be able to support a worthy organization like VAFF. We are proud to extend our reach beyond the Internet and help promote arts and multiculturalism in BC.”
The 15th annual VAFF will take place on November 3–6, 2011, at Cinemark Tinseltown Theatres in Vancouver. Organizers are expecting close to 3,000 audience members over the four-day festival.
About the Vancouver Asian Film Festival
The Vancouver Asian Film Festival Society (VAFF) is a not-for-profit organization that celebrates diversity in film by providing a forum for independent Canadian and American Asian filmmakers to showcase their work to Asian and non-Asian audiences in Vancouver. VAFF is the oldest Asian film festival in Canada. It was founded by
independent filmmaker and writer Barbara K. Lee in 1995 and debuted in September 1997. Since then tens of thousands of film lovers have experienced a diverse selection of North American-Asian and international films. VAFF is entirely organized and produced by a group of dedicated volunteers, and is made possible by generous
financial support from corporate sponsors, public funders and private donors.
