We’re proud that a product made in America is working to protect America.

Flood Control America is proud to have helped protect a beloved town community center from the Hurricane Irene flooding that inundated Vermont. The town of Lincoln, Vermont, had the foresight after the disastrous flood of 1998 to use pre-disaster grant assistance to invest in and install The Invisible Flood Control Wall to protect the town’s community center, Burnham Hall – and last weekend when Hurricane Irene flooded the New Haven River, the system held tight against nearly 4 feet of water.

“We’re very proud to have helped protect Lincoln’s beloved town community center during Hurricane Irene,” said George Fryklund, president of Flood Control America. “And we’re proud that a product made in America is working to protect America.”

The Invisible Flood Control Wall (IFCW) is a removable wall only erected in the event of a flood – an environmentally friendly alternative to concrete levees and sandbagging. The aluminum planks that “stack” on top of a permanent sill plate are light-weight, quick and easy to install.

In Lincoln, before Hurricane Irene arrived, 11 community members – men and women of diverse ages – deployed the aluminum plank flood protection barriers over the windows and doors of Burnham Hall that kept the inside protected during the storm and flooding.

The IFCW has been analyzed and approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and has over 100 installations across America.
