Dr. Allen Boghossian was elected to serve as a Board Member for Prevent Blindness Northern California (PBNC). He is an ophthalmologist and founder of Boghossian Vision, a center specializing in advanced LASIK and laser eye surgery. Prior to Dr. Boghossian’s nomination, he was an active supporter of PBNC through raising funds and awareness with the Boghossian Vision Charity Golf Tournament.
Dr. Boghossian will join one of the longest standing charities in the Bay Area with more than 40 years of dedication to preserving sight for the general public. PBNC’s Board of Directors are comprised of the most respected doctors, scientific advisors and business people to provide invaluable consultation and guidance to help advance the charity and help in program development and implementation.
PBNC is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization based in San Francisco that provides services to prevent vision impairment. PBNC offers vision screening and health education to the public on eye disorders that if left undetected can lead to permanent vision loss. Just last year there were over 24,000 vision screenings the Prevent Blindness Northern California provided. Since inception in 1966, over one million individuals have received vision screening by PBNC.
Dr. Boghossian is a strong advocate of vision screening for young children not only for eye disorders that can have a serious effect on vision loss but also to check the current vision needs which is essential to the child’s overall well being and performance in school.
