The Star-Ledger, powering NJ.com, has launched New Jersey Special Reports iPad and Android Tablet apps, digital magazines with a premier issue of Enduring Memories of September 11, including photo, text and video retrospectives 10 years after the terrorist attacks.
The New Jersey Special Reports apps will deliver to iPads and Android tablets periodic digital magazine issues with in-depth coverage of local news, sports and entertainment from the newsrooms of The Star-Ledger and 11 other affiliated newspapers across New Jersey with NJ.com.
“With these applications, The Star-Ledger, in conjunction with its partner NJ.com, continues its efforts to serve the people of New Jersey in all the ways they want to consume their news and information. New Jersey’s 9/11 story is a powerful one, and we believe anyone who downloads these apps and this first issue will be enlightened and moved,” said Richard Vezza, publisher, The Star-Ledger.
The premier Enduring Memories of September 11 issue can be downloaded now for free. It includes Haunting Images (photos taken by Star-Ledger photographers on Sept. 11, 2001), Ten Years After (pictures from the sites of devastation, then and now), A Simple Gift, A Life Saved (the moving story of how a thoughtful gift from a colleague resulted in one man’s survival), New Jersey Remembers (a tour of some of the 9/11 memorials in New Jersey), Tributes in Light (a brilliant slideshow of the annual homage to the lives lost) and a Video Gallery of the stories of 9/11 victims as told by loved ones left behind.
