When Hurricane Irene was scheduled to hit New York City early Sunday morning, I was very nervous for my customers. I felt that I had to offer them some aid, and so I sent out an emergency email to all my New York City customers.

Irene’s intense winds and immense downpours destroyed and flooded various East coast locations. Harrington was able to fight the hurricane, and helped preserve some of New York City’s landmarks.
Due to the hurricane, the lower East Side of New York City was ordered to immediately evacuate. Harrington movers immediately headed toward the NYC locations being evacuated. Harrington movers evacuated areas along the East River, and transported Murray Hill residents to safer uptown locations. Since flooding was inevitable, Harrington loaded all ground floor furniture and valuable items onto their trucks.
Harrington trucks effectively safeguarded all rescued items from the strong winds and heavy rain. Harrington trucks were strong enough to drive smoothly across Manhattan, despite the 18 inches of rainfall. When power was restored on August 25, Harrington brought back the materials to their appropriate locations.
“When Hurricane Irene was scheduled to hit New York City early Sunday morning, I was very nervous for my customers. I felt that I had to offer them some aid, and so I sent out an emergency email to all my New York City customers. Many replied, and sought out our transportation services. I am so proud to be a part of such an altruistic company. I cannot thank my staff enough for their cooperation during this horrid event.” Says Harrington President Jeff Harrington.
Most New York City residents did not own a car and had no way of evacuating. All subway stations were shut down, and many reported to have felt trapped. Harrington hence transported many New York City East Side residents to safe New York City locations. “I do not know what I would have done if a Harrington mover had not transported my family and I in his truck. Rog took us from our East 40th street location, and brought us to a public safe midtown area. I cannot thank Harrington enough for saving me during this scary experience!” says Barbra, rescued Harrington customer. “Harrington was so nice, and even transported some of my valuable furniture, protecting it from the storm.”
