Attendees Learn Results from Significant Benchmark Study on the Job Board Industry.
The International Association of Employment Web Sites (IAEWS) Fall Congress will get under way September 7th in Hollywood, Florida. This bi-annual gathering of the world’s leading job boards and employment websites is always an opportunity for industry leaders to gain valuable information. This fall’s gathering should be particularly useful, as attendees discuss the data generated by this summer’s IAEWS 2011 Benchmark Survey, the first ever in the critically important online employment services industry.
Job Boards Compare Data
Sponsored by Jobg8, the study allowed job boards to measure their relative effectiveness and efficiency across a number of relevant performance metrics. Participating boards will also meet for an exclusive two hour discussion of the survey report results prior to the start of the IAEWS Fall Congress. The industry interest and response for this first year study was more than originally anticipated, with over 100 job boards from around the world submitting detailed data to an independent market research firm. Peter Weddle, the executive director of IAEWS stated that, “Serious job board owners who are concerned about improving operations and financial performance see the obvious advantage of participating in the survey. We were extremely pleased with the commitment and geographic diversity of the 100+ job boards that participated.”
Jobg8, the world’s only marketplace exclusively for job boards, was the sponsor for this global project and participated in the strategy sessions to help design the survey instrument. Matt Hoffner, president of Jobg8 Americas will work with Rob Paterson, CEO of Friday-Ad of the United Kingdom to lead the exclusive discussion session among survey participants, as well as present a summary of the results to the full conference audience. Hoffner stated, “There is a wealth of information in the data generated from the benchmark survey. However, understanding what it means and how to use the information to improve performance is why the discussion forum among peers will be so valuable.”
Improved Business Strategies
The full report has been sent to all participants in advance of the meeting and clearly shows that job boards continue to evolve their model to better serve their advertisers and respond to the ever-changing landscape of online recruitment. Using study results to evaluate job board performance based on comparative data, offers an unprecedented opportunity for job board owners to improve their business strategies in what remains an extremely competitive industry.
