In the wake of Hurricane Irene, Air Feathers Boutique is fundraising to help salon professionals rebuild after the devastation. With the National Cosmetology Association Disaster Relief Fund, the Eco-Chic Hair Stylist run boutique wants to do its part by selling Lulu's Chocolate.

I'm sleeping in my clothes and working 24/7 right now," says McCready, "but it's all worth it if I can help out others by making my own dream come true.

Fast becoming known for its amazing fundraising efforts, Air Feathers Boutique and Feather Bar has taken on another cause-helping salon professionals who have lost everything in Hurricane Irene's wake.

Already working with causes such as Susan G. Komen, Go Red AHA and The Reeve Foundation, Owner Airie McCready felt it only right to add this on to the roster.

"I really want to make a difference with this opportunity in my lifetime," says McCready, a stylist and master extension artist, "I've been given a chance to do something that can help others, and that excites me."

After launching the Fairie Feather, the only cruelty free, no-kill feather extension available to date, she has set her sites on a future where fundraising is part of every day life.

"I'm sleeping in my clothes and working 24/7 right now," she says, "but it's all worth it if I can help out others by making my own dream come true."

The NCA Disaster Relief Fund was established in 1955 to assist salons in rebuilding following the devastation of natural disaster. Over the course of five decades, the fund has been there for professionals in times of dire need.

PBA | NCA is asking all industry professionals to make their tax deductible donations to the NCA Disaster Fund – a unique effort that provides 100% of all funds raised directly to professional beauty industry professionals in need.

McCready's Air Feather Extensions line for professionals currently donates $1.00 from each Fairie Feather pack sold to The Reeve Foundation, and plans bigger things for the future.
Her flagship Air Feathers Boutique, online and at 200 E. Grand Avenue in Escondido, CA, offers consumers the option of buying many products that give back to different causes, or are earth, vegan, and animal friendly.

Air Feathers Grand Opening on Fashion's Night Out, a benefit for The Reeve Foundation is on Septmeber 8th 2011 from 6pm to 11pm. 50% of all profits made during the benefit, both online and in store will be donated to The Reeve Foundation, as well as their various causes.
