We are thrilled to bring the culinary excellence of Park Hyatt Masters to San Diego and to share the abundance of Carlsbad’s local resources with our guests
Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) September 15, 2011
This September 24th, Park Hyatt Aviara Resort is one of the 19 Park Hyatt hotels to bring the Masters of Food & Wine series to their local community. Through a day of engaging and interactive programming, both North San Diego residents and the resort’s visiting gourmands and oenophiles can become ‘Masters’ of regional cuisine.
The Southern California luxury resort’s inaugural Masters of Food & Wine event will take place on September 24, 2011. Led by Executive Chef Pierre Albaladejo, guests can partake in a full day of culinary adventures, beginning with a hands-on educational tour of Carlsbad Aquafarm and discussion of the ecology of farm-raised seafood, followed by an oyster and Sauvignon Blanc tasting. Chef Albaladejo will then prepare a delicious lunch of Mussels Éclade, made with seafood fresh from the farm.
That evening, the North San Diego resort’s AAA Four Diamond Vivace restaurant will host a “Cal-Ital” winemaker dinner with Napa Valley’s Seghesio Family Vineyards. Guests will partake in California wines made from Italian varietals, while learning from the winemaker about this growing Napa Valley trend. Wine will be paired with Chef Jesse Paul's distinctive regional Italian cuisine.
“We are thrilled to bring the culinary excellence of Park Hyatt Masters to San Diego and to share the abundance of Carlsbad’s local resources with our guests” said Mark Stiebeling, general manager of Park Hyatt Aviara Resort. “We anticipate Park Hyatt Masters to become a seasonal culinary celebration of our community, as well as a unique way for our guests to experience the destination through food and wine.”
The three-hour tour, tasting and lunch at Carlsbad Aquafarm is priced at $145 per person and includes tax, gratuity and transportation to/from the resort. The Vivace “Cal-Ital” winemaker dinner is priced at $185 per person (including tax and gratuity). A package including both events is available for $300 per person. Reservations are limited and may be made by calling 760.448.1234 ext. 5056.
