The first event of its kind to address the needs, issues, challenges and opportunities for government documents in Latin America
(PRWEB UK) 9 September 2011
Reconnaissance International will be holding the 1st Latin American High Security Printing Conference in Rio de Janeiro from June 12-14, 2012.
Reconnaissance already organises the Asian and Pan European High Security Printing Conferences, having acquired these from the Cross Group in 2009. The annual events have a regional focus and cover government-specified and issued documents, including currency, fiduciary documents, excise stamps, ID cards, e-passports, visas, vehicle documents and licences, with a particular emphasis on banknotes and emerging technologies for ID and travel documents. Running in tandem with each event is a trade exhibition of 30-40 companies supplying technologies and systems for these sectors.
Latin America, however, is growing in importance - not just as a future economic powerhouse but as a market for high security printing. Many of the countries are becoming key innovators in specification, procurement and distribution, serving not only their own growing economies but also the wider region too.
It is, says Reconnaissance, in recognition of this growing importance that it will be holding the Latin American High Security Printing Conference - the first event of its kind to address the needs, issues, challenges and opportunities for specifiers and producers, issuers and distributors of government documents in the region.
The honorary sponsor for the event is Casa da Moeda do Brasil, the state-owned banknote and security printer which is developing as one of the leading suppliers of high security documents in the region. A highlight of the event will be a post-conference tour for delegates of its newly-expanded and refurbished facilities just outside Rio de Janeiro.
Reconnaissance International organises a number of conferences in the field of optical document security, authentication, fiscal stamps, pharmaceutical anticounterfeiting and holography. It also publishes five monthly newsletters (Holography News, Tax Stamp News, Authentication News, Pharmaceutical AntiCounterfeiting News and, through a joint venture, Currency News) along with industry studies and directories.
