Frugal-living expert Leah Ingram has launched Philadelphia on the Cheap, a website that focuses on deals, discounts, and freebies in the Philadelphia area. Founder of the popular Suddenly Frugal blog, Bucks County, Pennsylvania-based Ingram is also the author of 14 books–including Suddenly Frugal: How to Live Happier and Healthier for Less and Toss, Keep, Sell: The Suddenly Frugal Guide for Cleaning Out the Clutter and Cashing In. Philadelphia on the Cheap went live on September 1, 2011.

One of Suddenly Frugal's most popular features is “Freebie Friday." Philadelphia on the Cheap takes "Freebie Friday” to a new level. Along with free things to do, buy, and see, Philadelphia on the Cheap highlights hyperlocal discounts and deals. Recent bargains include a free concert at the Sugarhouse Casino, a discount at P.F. Chang's, and reduced admission to Independence Hall. Philadelphia on the Cheap covers the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia suburbs (including Central and Southern New Jersey), and is targeted to residents as well as tourists and visitors.

Philadelphia on the Cheap is the latest site in the Cities on the Cheap network, the go-to resource for locals, travelers, bargain hunters and backyard explorers looking for a new adventure on the cheap. Currently, there are 30 plus Cities on the Cheap sites. Named to the TLC list of the “10 Best Websites to Save You Money,” Cities on the Cheap sites search for the best deals and freebies, then combines them into a single daily newsletter. Subscribing is free, and visitors can browse each day's new deals without signing up if they prefer. More than just a coupon-clipping organizer and aggregator, Cities on the Cheap offer readers information about free and discounted events, attractions, concerts, workshops, performances and movie passes. Cities on the Cheap sites get approximately 1 million pageviews a month.
