Second Largest Opening in Country; First Largest Opening in the State

Less than two weeks after opening its doors on August 29, 2011, Capital Food Group, the franchisee of three Mellow Mushrooms to come in Eastern North Carolina, has made national and state history with its Fayetteville opening.

"Mellow Mushroom Fayetteville, N.C. is the 2nd largest opening in our 27-year, 123-store history," said Meredeth Shellnutt, Director of Franchise Development for Mellow Mushroom's corporate office, Home Grown Industries of Georgia. "In addition, it's the largest of 16 openings throughout the state of North Carolina."

The store's first restaurant review in The Fort Bragg Patch,described the experience as [sure to please the foodie at heart and casual diner alike... no ordinary chain restaurant...a gourmet franchise...mushroom madness meets the market demand.]

"We chose Fayetteville, N.C. as our flagship store because we knew this market needed an eclectic brand like Mellow Mushroom," said Reid Fogleman, Principal Wwner of Capital Food Group. "Making history is special and we have our Fayetteville fans to thank for that."

Mellow Mushroom Fayetteville kicked off its opening week with a pizza-cutting ceremony to mark the store's first open day to the public. As part of the ceremony, Mellow donated $4,000 to Fayetteville Cares, a local nonprofit that provides support to military members and their families.

Mellow Mushroom Fayetteville's next community outreach will take place on the 10th anniversary of September 11 to honor the military, police force and fire department for their service to the country. A ten percent food-discount will be offered to all guests providing valid identification.
