“It is our mission to provide affordable, 100% online degree programs to underserved adult populations such as our U.S. servicemembers."

Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSUGlobal.edu) is pleased to announce that it has been accepted as a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity College Consortium or SOC. As a member of SOC, CSU-Global will be able to better serve active military personnel, veterans, and their families in all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces with its 100% online bachelor’s degree completion and master’s degree programs.

SOC helps provide educational opportunities to servicemembers who have experienced difficulty obtaining their college degrees because of the rigorous demands, travel, and expectations of their military career. As listed on their website (soc.aascu.org), SOC functions in cooperation with 15 higher education associations, the Department of Defense, and Active and Reserve Components of the Military Services to expand and improve voluntary postsecondary education opportunities for service members worldwide. SOC is funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) through a contract with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). The contract is managed for DoD by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES).

“CSU-Global is strongly committed to active members and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families,” said Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker, president of CSU-Global Campus. “It is our mission to provide affordable, 100% online degree programs to underserved adult populations such as our U.S. servicemembers. Our unique online platform, tuition guarantee, and adult-focused degree programs serve the unique demands of military personnel and supply them with increased education opportunities for career advancement.”

Through the rest of 2011, CSU-Global’s low tuition rate at $250 per credit hour for bachelor degrees and $375 per credit hour for master degrees, allows qualified military and veterans to earn their undergraduate degree with little to no out-of-pocket tuition expenses. Remaining terms in 2011 begin September 26 and October 31. As a participating member of SOC, CSU-Global will now be listed in all Military Education Offices worldwide.
