“Reach for Me,” the indie breakout hit of this season, is reaching Netflix and Amazon on September 13th.
"We are so pleased that Netflix is giving the title very solid support," said Charlene Blaine-Schulenburg, producer of “Reach for Me” and a lead actress in the film. Netflix has more than 25 million members in the United States and Canada.
The film will be available in many rental and retail locations including 2770 Walmart stores nationwide. Walmart made “Reach For Me” available one week earlier on September 6.
“Reach for Me” will also be listed on Amazon.com's website for the first time. "Amazon has great credibility with consumers and is the leading source for selling on-line product. They also traditionally support independent films and have been supportive of ‘Reach for Me,’" said Blaine-Schulenburg.
Brandi Roth, Ph.D, a licensed psychologist in practice in Beverly Hills, CA, is a huge supporter of “Reach for Me” and has used it to quote and aid with some of her clients various issues for aging and end of life issues. Roth recently said, "The film is a beautiful reminder to all of us to try harder to be closer to each other, to enjoy life, to have fun, to embrace aging and to choose relationships with people where this can happen."
“Reach For Me” made Hollywood history in 2008 by being the first digital 4K film shot and edited, end to end, in 4K, filmed in Los Angeles, produced by AMediaVision Productions, written by Michael Bruce Adams and directed by LeVar Burton. It stars Oscar Nominee Seymour Cassel, Johnny Whitworth, Golden Globe Nominee Adrienne Barbeau, Lacey Chabert and Oscar Nominee Alfre Woodard.
“Reach For Me” is an honest yet humorous and heartfelt look at how we deal with life, love, laughter, and commitment in our last days with the realization that: It's not the minutes that count, but how we spend the moments. Among the many awards it has won, “Reach for Me” garnered the prestigious AARP 'Movie's for Grownups' Breakthrough Accomplishment award. The film's website is reachformethefilm.com.
