Votigo, the market leader in social media promotions technology, announced today the launch of an invitation-only beta for self-service access to the Votigo Platform. The Platform allows brands and organizations of all sizes to create promotions such as sweepstakes and photo or video contests for Facebook within a simple and cost-effective interface. Votigo will debut the Platform beta at two important events the week of Sept. 12th: DEMO Showcase in San Francisco and Boulder Beta in Boulder, Colorado.

While Votigo has primarily served major domestic and international brands since its founding in 2006, the company’s latest offering coincides with explosive social media investment by small and growing businesses, with OPENForum reporting that 44% of small businesses are now using social media to attract new customers. As brands pile up followers on Facebook, Twitter and other thriving social media networks, they increasingly run promotions to increase likes, acquire engaging content, and reach more potential customers on these platforms.

For the first time, the Votigo Platform offers an option that accommodates the budget and self-service orientation of emerging socially-savvy brands. The Votigo Platform launches in beta with three of the most popular, in-demand promotions applications: photo contests, video contests and sweepstakes on Facebook. Users can create an account, log-in, and in five simple steps, configure and launch a user-generated contest or audience-capturing sweepstakes to their Facebook brand page. Aside from the Platform’s security and power, and the expertise of a company that achieved Facebook Preferred Developer Consultant status in early 2010, other distinctive features include a streamlined interface, Like-Gating option, and private registration database. As with all Votigo promotions apps, brand users keep the private registration data of all promotions participants, who are never retargeted for other clients’ campaigns.

Votigo will continue to develop new offerings through the platform ahead of an official launch date later this year, including tools for brands to quickly publish dedicated microsites, mobile extensions, Twitter promotions and more.
