SECO International, LLC, a wholly owned entity of the Southern Council of Optometrists, Inc. (SoCo), today announced it has signed on with EventSphere and QMS to manage the housing and registration needs for its SECO 2012 meeting, held Feb. 29 – March 4 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
“We were searching for an experienced partner who could deliver a combined housing and registration platform and we found that in EventSphere and QMS,” said SECO’s Executive Director, Elizabeth Taylor. “This combined with their stellar industry reputation and commitment to customer service were the primary reasons for selecting EventSphere and QMS.”
SECO International is widely acknowledged as the largest optometric educational meeting in the world. Its annual SECO Congress regularly attracts more than 7,000 national and international eye care professionals, vendors, and allied ophthalmic personnel.
Speaking about the importance of this new partnership, EventSphere CEO Todd Lambert said, “Every year, SECO International is responsible for staging a myriad of high profile events—with their annual congress and educational conference here in Atlanta as the centerpiece of their busy schedule. They know how simple and seamless registering for their events and reserving hotel rooms can be with our robust platform and we know how critical it is for them to get it right with every attendee. We intend to make them shine in 2012.”
With two key components under the experienced and watchful eye of our team of experts, SECO International will be able to focus on all other aspects of the 2012 installment annual conference,” said Kalib Denton, President and CEP of QMS.
In addition to the combined housing and registration services offered by EventSphere, SECO’s Taylor said the ability to track total hotel spend and presence in the host city was also key to their decision to enlist EventSphere’s assistance.
Commenting on their newly formed partnership, Lambert said, “We’ve actually known one another for some time thanks to SECO’s familiarity with QMS and their long, outstanding relationship with the Hinman Dental Meeting. Our VP of Operations, Debby Parham, has handled Hinman Dental for 18 years in a previous position. So, I think they were really impressed with the team roster for both QMS and EventSphere.”
