While Hispanics have been among the hardest hit by the foreclosure crisis, the rapidly growing younger segment of this demographic is poised to make significant homeownership strides in the current market.

"CDPE agents close nearly five times as many sales and complete short sales in half the time as the average agent."

Alex Charfen, CEO of the Charfen Institute and author of the industry-leading Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) designation, announced today the launch of the first-ever Spanish language CDPE course, scheduled for September 26 and 27, 2011 at the that the Miami Association of REALTORS office.

“This signals a new chapter in the history of our young company,” said Charfen, who developed the CDPE course in South Florida nearly four years ago. Experiencing first-hand the kind of havoc that foreclosure can wreak on a family, Charfen redirected his career toward providing real estate agents with the knowledge and expertise to help homeowners avoid foreclosures while building their businesses during a down market and serving clients at an extraordinarily high level.

CDPE agents are working toward the recovery of the U.S. real estate market on two fronts.

  •     Stemming the tide of foreclosures by negotiating short sales with banks on behalf of financially strapped homeowners whose mortgage amount exceeds the current market value of their home,
  •     Helping homebuyers and investors to build wealth through the purchase of bank owned properties and short sales that are priced considerably below market value.

“The CDPE is now the fastest growing real estate designation of all time, with nearly 35,000 agents trained, and the nation’s major banks referring thousands of short sale leads to CDPE agents every week,” Charfen said. “CDPE agents close nearly five times as many sales and complete short sales in half the time as the average agent. So we are thrilled to now be broadening the impact of this course to Spanish-speaking agents and their clients.”
