Based in Orlando, Fla., Cornish will oversee business development activities and project delivery responsibilities for the firm’s transportation clients located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
Cornish is an industry expert with 25 years of engineering experience ranging from construction inspection and oversight to design engineering and project management of major transportation projects. He has significant experience in various transportation modes and project delivery types, including design-build (DB) and public-private partnerships (P3). His core technical experience specializes in the highway-bridge market sector, including the design of vertical and horizontal geometrics, roadway and interchange layout, and maintenance of traffic during construction.
Prior to joining AECOM, Cornish served in a similar role as a vice president and southeast district manager at another large engineering firm. He also served as project manager for the Susquehanna River Bridge Replacement project in Pennsylvania; project sponsor for the Inter-County Connector (ICC-A) DB project in Maryland; and principal-in-charge of the SunRail DB in Florida.
