To celebrate his successful career as Louisville’s most trusted jeweler, Merkley Kendrick is holding a rare sales event.

Merkley Kendrick Jewelers, the oldest independent jeweler in Louisville, and the third oldest in America, is preparing to celebrate the retirement of William (Bill) Merkley. After more than 50 years in the family business, Bill will take time to enjoy his family, friends and hobbies. His son, Brian S. Merkley will carry on the tradition as Louisville’s most trusted jeweler on to future generations of the Merkley family.

In honor of Bill Merkley’s retirement, and as a thank you to the many happy customers who have contributed to his successful career spanning over five decades, Merkley Kendrick will be holding a rare sales event. The Retirement Sale will run from September 13, 2011 until October 8, 2011.

“I’m very proud of my father’s legacy, and the part our business has played in the history of so many families in the Louisville and surrounding communities over the years,” said Brian S. Merkley, reflecting upon his father’s retirement. “I’m also very excited to continue to carry the take on the responsibility of bringing that legacy forward into the future.”
