The new version of hunter-ed.com/Colorado offers an optional narration feature allowing students to listen, read or both.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 13, 2011
New features have been added to Colorado’s online hunter safety course that will provide students with a high quality educational experience that is easy and fun. One feature that remains the same is students can study for free at http://www.hunter-ed.com/Colorado, paying only when they pass their hunter certification exam.
The new version of hunter-ed.com/Colorado offers an optional narration feature allowing students to listen, read or both. Exam questions also are read out loud and include illustrations to help students recall what they’ve learned.
In addition, Colorado’s online hunter safety course is designed to engage students with a combination of short text blocks and detailed illustrations and animations. Using this mix of teaching methods helps students quickly grasp course concepts, rather than get bogged down reading long pages of text. Plus, they can study the material at hunter-ed.com/Colorado at their convenience.
“The upgrades to hunter-ed.com really make the material better for students, especially younger students,” said Mark Cousins, hunter education coordinator for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. “The way the material is broken up into short segments, along with the audio track, makes it better for learning. The audio track is very helpful as it allows students to see and hear the words in context, enhancing their understanding of the material.”
Students who must receive their hunter education certification to obtain a hunting license pay a one-time fee of $24.50, which is due only if they pass the test. Students can take the test as many times as they need to pass it. To complete all hunter education requirements for Colorado, students must pass the online course and complete the Colorado hunter education conclusion class. Before beginning the online course, students must pre-register for a final instructor-led conclusion class. (http://www.hunter-ed.com/Colorado/field_day.html)
By Colorado statute, everyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1949, who applies for a Colorado hunting license or preference point, must have successfully completed an approved hunter education course. Students who take the course at hunter-ed.com/Colorado learn the same material that is presented in the classroom course, which includes hunter responsibility, wildlife identification and management, game care, outdoor survival, and more. Students also receive introductions to hunting with bows and black powder firearms.
