In the month that it has celebrated an eighth birthday and, following a number of new client wins, integrated PR, social media and SEO agency Punch Communications has successfully expanded its Midlands-based main office by 50%, in order to accommodate the business' growth.

Launched in 2003 by founders Pete and Emma Goold, initially as a PR agency, the business has grown significantly in terms of both numbers and services.

The business has now grown to a headcount of 18, including 15 social media, search and PR consultants – most recently following the appointment of Colin Miller as a result of Punch’s successful Future PR campaign, which spanned the three disciplines. Punch has also recently appointed HR, finance and senior management personnel.

Pete Goold, Managing Director of Punch, said: “We believe that our growth has been directly attributable to our willingness to change and our passion for ensuring that we are right at the edge of PR’s evolution - as we strongly believe that the future of the industry lies in a tight integration of organic search and social media, alongside more traditional PR services.

"If one defines Public Relations as the management of influence or reputation, then social media and, perhaps more importantly, organic search are two disciplines which belong under that heading. Moreover, what is most exciting is that Search provides and additional commercial validation for PR activities. If a campaign aligns media outreach with search through and understanding of the value of link building, then one commercially underpins the other.

"Looking forward, it's clear that more and more people and businesses within the sector are coming around to this way of thinking and as we're continually pushing this message, we're hoping to redefine what many understand the PR industry should offer as core services."

Punch is always looking for talented individuals to compliment its growing team. Any parties currently looking for employment with online PR, search or social media agencies are encouraged to get in touch, and can do so by emailing working(at)punchcomms(dot)com.
