The CMC Cable FIX™ is a suture button implant designed to stabilize the thumb metacarpal following removal or partial resection of the trapezium. The thumb joint of the hand is the second most common site afflicted by osteoarthritis; however, this disabling condition makes it the most common site for which surgery is sought. The CMC Cable FIX™ is a sterile procedure-specific kit, providing a percutaneous, reliable and quick alternative to traditional Ligament Reconstruction Tendon Interposition (LRTI) techniques. With patent pending SnapLink™ technology, the CMC Cable FIX creates a simplified approach to device implantation. The Instratek CMC Cable FIX™ is intended to provide a stable, pain free thumb articulation for basal thumb arthrosis or instability of the carpometacarpal joint.
