Tom Weiskopf has designed the Golf Course at Kukui’ula to complement the island’s rolling terrain, dramatic view planes and trade winds. It’s a roller coaster ride that builds in momentum and excitement.

The Golf Course at Kukui`ula is a private 18-hole signature design by Tom Weiskopf, that lies at the heart of Kukui’ula, Hawaii’s first major new luxury residential community in a more than a decade. Located on the sunny southern coastline of Kaua’i, the northernmost island in the Hawaiian chain, this new creation by the British Open winner (1973) and designer of more than 50 courses worldwide provides a unique island-style golf experience for players of all ages and skill levels.

“Tom Weiskopf has designed the Golf Course at Kukui’ula to complement the island’s rolling terrain, dramatic view planes and trade winds,” says Brian Paul, Kukui‘ula’s head golf professional. “It’s a roller coaster ride that builds in momentum and excitement.”

The championship 7,000-yard emerald jewel, featuring paspalum-turf and sand-plated fairways, follows the natural undulating flow of the landscape through the coffee fields, meadows and rolling hillsides of Kukui’ula that will bring into play a variety of options during the round. As a bonus, players are rewarded with a picturesque scene of the surrounding native flora and spectacularly sweeping views of the ocean, Kukui'ula Harbor and Spouting Horn – a landmark in the area.

“On almost every hole at Kukui’ula something grows that can be eaten or worn,” says Paul. “From macadamia trees to pineapple to lychee orchards to crown flower forests, the golf course celebrates the tropical vibrancy of Kaua’i.”

In addition to the par-72 layout, Kukui’ula includes a $100 million club facility that serves as the social and recreational hub of the community where members have access to The Plantation House, golf clubhouse, 20,000 square foot world-class spa with indoor/outdoor treatment rooms, extensive fitness facilities, a movement studio for Yoga and Pilates, a collection of swimming pools and locker rooms. Also on property is a 26-acre community farm and fishing lake (catch and release).

Kukui’ula, named after the kukui or candlenut torches that once guided fisherman back home to the island, includes a portfolio of custom ocean-view home sites and signature cottages. The assorted neighborhood cottage collections available in this luxury residential community range in size from 1,500 to 3,800 square feet, and start at $2.2 million, with custom home sites beginning at $1 million.

“We are extremely excited to offer individuals and families the chance to experience first-hand the natural beauty and genuine traditions of Kaua’i in this new residential community,” said Brent Herrington, president of Kukui’ula. “Kukui’ula is the perfect marriage of luxury living and casual lifestyle. Everyday our residents are presented with an array of engaging opportunities to immerse themselves in the beauty of the surrounding area and the true culture of this island.”
