...after returning from a 7-day endurance-ride, Jennifer realized, "I just want to ride my bike."

BayTrek Adventures a woman-owned and operated adventure travel company has recently launched its guided cycling and hiking tours in the San Francisco Bay Area. Targeting active tourists who are visiting Northern California’s Wine Country or the San Francisco Bay Area, BayTrek guides guests through the back roads of Sonoma and Marin Counties. Whether it’s cycling over the Golden Gate Bridge, climbing up Mt. Tamalpais (to take in the incredible views), or hiking Muir Woods and Muir Beach; BayTrek has a tour that caters to tourists who want to get off the beaten path and away from the crowds. BayTrek wants to get tourists out of lines and into nature. All cycling and hiking tours include a healthy lunch, transportation and bike rentals.
The owner of BayTrek Adventures comes from a well-known women’s athletic apparel company here in the Bay Area. She arrived back to the office after riding RAGBRAI (the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa), a 7-day endurance-ride and realized “I just want to ride my bike.” After this realization she has thrown herself full-force into bringing the beauty of the Wine Country and Marin County to others whether it be hiking or biking.
Many BayTrek tours are geared towards those who are more “seasoned” although there are adventures available for every experience level. BayTrek was founded because of a deep-seeded desire to be outdoors and push physical limits and they want their guests to do the same. It’s about the journey, the challenge and the emersion in nature - even if it’s only for a day.
Coming soon to BayTrek’s lineup - multi-day cycling vacations through Northern California (Pacific Coast, the California Redwoods and Wine Country) and women-only guided tours and vacations. Stay-tuned, they’re in the works!
