The Assistance Fund, a leading 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, announces the appointment of Dr. Kellie Mosley-Mendez to its Board of Directors.
“The Assistance Fund staff and current board are happy to welcome Dr. Mosley-Mendez to our organization. The addition to the Board of Directors ensures The Assistance Fund will continue to advance through leveraging various backgrounds and perspectives,” said Jeff Spafford, Executive Director of The Assistance Fund.
Dr. Mosley-Mendez is a practicing board certified dermatologist with two locations in Florida. Having completed her residency in dermatology and cutaneous surgery at Broward General Medical Center/Nova Southeastern University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Division of Dermatology in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, she brings expertise in adult and pediatric dermatology, skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, and cosmetic procedures to The Assistance Fund Board of Directors.
She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and her medical degree from the Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Mosley-Mendez is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, American Society Dermatologic Surgeons, and American College of Phlebology.
“Dr. Mosley-Medez’s experience in dermatology, including skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, brings a fresh and positive outlook to the organization. She will help The Assistance Fund continue our mission to help individuals with chronic or life threatening illnesses receive greatly needed financial assistance for prescription medications, health care premiums, and genetic testing,” said Spafford.
