Buddy’s Kitchen, Inc. has been awarded the SQF 2000 – Level 3 Certification by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI). SQF is a comprehensive food safety and quality management system that is recognized as the food industry’s highest - and most stringent - certification standard.

"Our team, from the outset of this journey, decided not just to comply with the industry standards, but to be among the industry leaders," said Dave Smith, CEO of Buddy’s Kitchen Inc. “I’m proud of the SQF Level 3 achievement, but equally important is our commitment for continuous improvement beyond the basic requirements.”

Buddy’s attained SQF Level 2 earlier this year. While SQF Level 2 focuses on safe food, Level 3 adds quality dimensions to operations and processes.

Tom Webber, Buddy’s Food Safety Director, added, "Food safety and quality is at the core of who we are as a company. Our customers expect the best, and it’s the right thing to do."

Founded in 1974, Buddy’s Kitchen produces custom frozen food products for retailers, convenience stores, airlines, and food service. Buddy’s employs 200 people at its plant in Burnsville, Minnesota.
