It’s a risk we all take when planning summer vacations - will the hotel be as good as it looks on the website? You do as much research as you can online, but when you finally arrive at your destination, that “room with an ocean view” can actually be miles away from the beach. A new mobile website, http://gotbeach.mobi, now takes some of the guess work out of beach vacations.

Dreaming of a beach hotel.

It happened too many times that the hotel I booked wasn’t on the beach at all,” says Jerry Henderson, creator of the new website, http://gotbeach.mobi.

“It happened too many times that the hotel I booked wasn’t on the beach at all,” says Jerry Henderson, creator of the new website, http://gotbeach.mobi. “ I decided to do something about it. My wife and I traveled up and down the West Coast of the United States looking for real beach resorts and beach hotels - places really on the beach not blocks away.”

Henderson created a database containing 99.9% of all the beach resorts and beach hotels in California, Oregon, and Washington. Then he made the database available to beach lovers via a website - http://beachesbeaches.com. He says, “This is the largest internet database of resorts and hotels really on the beach on the West Coast and now also includes beachfront resorts in Myrtle Beach” To keep pace with the popularity of smartphones, Henderson has now launched a mobile version of his website - http://gotbeach.mobi.

“We have checked all of these resorts and hotels to verify that they are actuallly on the beach, across the street from the beach, or on a bluff above the beach,” says Henderson. “To help our readers choose a beachfront resort or beach hotel I’ve noted on our beach websites our favorite beach resorts and beach hotels.”

The mobile version of the beach resort database, http://gotbeach.mobi, includes reviews, listing of the beachfront lodgings by regions as well as photos and contact information.

“The new site makes it easier for people to find a beach resort or beach hotel whether they are on the road looking for their next stop, or sitting in the office daydreaming.” Henderson says, “My goal is to get people on the beach, not blocks away.”
