Manero is instantaneous gratification, requiring no aging. And at this price point, it’s a daily indulgence that can be enjoyed even in these tough economic times.

Saiagricola is launching Manero Rosso di Toscana, a Sangiovese blend crafted by the world-renowned enologist Riccardo Cotarella, in the American market this month. A blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot, Manero is a high value Tuscan red ideal for everyday drinking that will enter the market in the premium price category.
Sold under Fattoria del Cerro, the name Manero is inspired by the Italian proverb of the jester and the winemaker. Manero is the name of the jester who beats the town winemaker at his own trade.
Cotarella takes a page from the proverb, crafting a light-hearted red that reflects the richness of Tuscany without extracting heavy, bitter tannins that would require the wine to age. Taking advantage of the range of Saiagricola properties, Cotarella utilizes grapes harvested from their Fattoria del Cerro and La Poderina vineyards to make Manero. In order to craft a wine that has mature tannins and no bitterness, Cotarella cuts skin maceration times almost in half. Each varietal is vinified separately and then blended before malolactic fermentation takes place. The result is a fruit-forward wine that is ready to be enjoyed right away.
“We believe Manero meets the needs of today’s market, offering consumers an approachable Tuscan red that has a fruit-forward flavor profile ideal for pairing with food,” says Fabrizio Pedrolli, chairman of Vias Imports Ltd., “Manero is instantaneous gratification, requiring no aging. And at this price point, it’s a daily indulgence that can be enjoyed even in these tough economic times.”
Imported in the United States by Vias Imports Ltd., Manero will also be available with a Stelvin cap in order to preserve this wine’s vibrant fruit notes while on retailers’ shelves.
