Popular baking mix company Dassant is giving customers the opportunity show off their creative cooking skills with the launch of their first ever recipe contest. The company is inviting customers to submit their own innovative recipes using the brand’s best-selling Classic Beer Bread mix.
“For years customers have been sending us creative recipes they make with our mixes. We thought a recipe contest would be the perfect way to feature their creativity,” says company founder and president Scott MacCaskill.
Fans will come up with original recipes using the brand’s surprisingly-versatile Classic Beer Bread Mix. For years the company has been touting the fact that a simple beer bread mix doesn’t have to make just a loaf of bread.
“People may be surprised how much they can make with a carton of beer bread mix. One of the great things about using mixes is that you don’t just get what is on the box”, says Marketing Coordinator Emily Ward-Dickerman. “On dassant.com, we currently feature over 140 unique recipes that use mixes.”
Dassant is not only encouraging customers to submit recipes, but they are also enlisting the help of their 18,000 fan-strong Facebook following. After all entries are received, MacCaskill will narrow them down to 5 finalists. Facebook fans will be asked to vote for their favorite. Once the votes are tallied, first place will receive a $100 cash prize, second place will receive $75 cash and 3rd, 4th and 5th places will receive free mixes. All submitted recipes will be considered for inclusion in a special “fan” section of dassant.com.
“We hope that this contest will inspire our customers to get in the kitchen and bake up something creative. It’s a great excuse to get the whole family involved,” says MacCaskill.
Entries will be accepted through October 20, 2011.
