The Startup America Partnership has named Dallas entrepreneur Nina Vaca-Humrichouse, who is chief executive officer for Pinnacle Technical Resources, to serve on its inaugural board of directors. On Aug. 23, the Startup America Partnership announced its entire slate of board members, which includes 11 of America’s most successful and highly regarded entrepreneurs.
The Startup America Partnership was launched on Jan. 31st at the White House. Since then, the organization has assembled an alliance of major corporations, funders, service providers, mentors and advisors working to dramatically increase the prevalence and success of high-growth enterprises in the United States.
The Partnership is the private sector’s response to President Obama’s Startup America initiative, which calls on all sectors to celebrate, inspire and accelerate entrepreneurship throughout the nation as a fundamental driver of job growth and global competitiveness.
“Nina knows firsthand what it’s like to scale a high-growth company,” said Scott Case, CEO of the Startup America Partnership. “As we work to help startups across the country grow their businesses and create jobs, we’ll look to Nina for her experienced guidance and direction.”
An experienced entrepreneur, Vaca-Humrichouse launched Pinnacle in 1996. In the years since, she has led Pinnacle as it has become one of the staffing industry’s fastest-growing firms. In addition, Pinnacle has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing companies for seven consecutive years.
“Entrepreneurship is the key to future economic growth in our nation,” Vaca-Humrichouse said. “With Startup America Partnership, the private sector will help connect entrepreneurs with the resources they need to make their vision a reality. Best of all, when entrepreneurs succeed, everyone in the economy can share in that success with more job creation and revenue growth.”
The entire Startup America Partnership board of directors is comprised of entrepreneurs, who hail from both large corporations and booming startups. More than a dozen firms and organizations have joined the Partnership, and major sponsors include American Express OPEN, Dell Inc., Intuit Inc., and Microsoft Corp. The Partnership has garnered $500 million in private sector commitments and several regional partnerships, providing entrepreneurs with education, mentorships, accelerator programs and more.
