Optimize team collaboration by synchronizing personal calendars, contacts and task lists.

ProperSync, a Bellevue-based company specializing in the integration of Microsoft SharePoint® and Microsoft Outlook®, today announced the release of ProperSync 1.3 for Microsoft Outlook, the latest version of the add-in that allows users to synchronize personal calendars, contacts, and task lists with SharePoint, optimizing team collaboration by merging data into one location.

Sharing Contacts, Calendars and Tasks across teams is a vital function to any organization. Microsoft SharePoint provides this functionality; but by default, Microsoft Outlook only supports a set of predefined fields and stores Microsoft SharePoint items in special folders. Using ProperSync, users can opt to share Outlook information with other team members directly within existing Outlook items providing a single data view within their Outlook or mobile client. The most anticipated ability is downloading the team calendar directly to a user’s primary calendar. Users can even upload some or all appointments to the office calendar to notify the team of their whereabouts.

"ProperSync provides the first tool of its kind to allow users to share their Microsoft Outlook contacts, calendars and tasks with Microsoft SharePoint,” said Carsten Winsnes, Principal of ProperSync. “It allows business users to stay within Microsoft Outlook instead of switching to other programs to share important items with their team.”

Prior to this collaboration technology, one of the biggest limitations of integrating Outlook with SharePoint is the lack of access to calendars on mobile phones or web clients. With ProperSync1.3 for Microsoft Outlook, users can see SharePoint appointments directly on their primary calendar. Once it is configured for a user within Outlook, all of their devices are updated. This advanced feature also works with contacts and task lists.

“ProperSync has allowed us to input numbers of students, teachers, types of field trips/events, contact information, and even rating scales of events onto SharePoint calendars without ever having to leave the Outlook environment!” said Conan Viernes, GEAR UP Program/Contract Analyst, University of Washington. “Our users love it and it saved us a lot of training time.”

ProperSync is now available for individual purchase. ProperSync also has an enterprise licensing model for individual software vendors and systems integrators. To learn more about ProperSync, or to download a 30-day free trial of the latest version, visit http://www.propersync.com.
