Irvine, CA (PRWEB) September 14, 2011
California Southern University, an online university, has announced that it has been awarded the designation of “Military-Friendly School” for 2012. The designation is bestowed annually by G.I. Jobs magazine—the leading publication for military personnel transitioning back into civilian life. The 2012 list of Military-Friendly Schools was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 8,000 schools nationwide. Methodology, criteria, and weighting for the list were developed with the assistance of an academic advisory board consisting of educators from schools across the country.
“CalSouthern is pleased and extremely honored to be recognized for our work with service members and veterans,” says University President Dr. Caroll Ryan. “It’s a privilege to give back to those who’ve served us so honorably, and we’ll continue to work hard to provide our military service members with the degree programs and personalized support they need to achieve their educational and career goals.”
According to a statement released by G.I. Jobs, the colleges, universities, and trade schools on this year’s list “prioritize the recruitment of students with military experience. These schools are making the grade by offering scholarships and discounts, veterans’ clubs, full-time staff, military credit, and other services to those who served.”
Founded in 1978, California Southern University is a premier, online university offering accredited online degrees at the associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels in business, law, and psychology to an international student body, utilizing a proprietary online learning system.
