We all want to reach out to a young audience, and with all of us contributing, an audience of many ages will be reached, and has been reached!

Teenlike.com, Inc. announces the first winner of its design competition, a very exciting time for the designer. Teenlike member Nephilim’s work was chosen based on what members of the Teenlike community would like to have in their room, which makes winning the competition that much more meaningful to her. The winner, who’s real name is Elisa Garay of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, took some time out to talk about her exciting experience.
Elisa, who’s style of art is Concept Design / Illustration, began drawing at a very young age, with a particular love for cartoons and animation. Having entered numerous video game design contests, she wanted to try something different. Teenlike sparked Elisa’s interest greatly, with the unique concept of designs created and chosen by the community for the teen room. She created a design, titled “Cool Waves,” which received a great response from the community members, earning her a cash prize of $500. “I am always looking for a relaxing themed comforter, and I know many others are too, so I chose Cool Waves to bring a cool atmosphere that is flowy and relaxing,” explains Garay. She also expressed her opinion as to why most teens aren’t as interested in home decor as they are clothes and music. “Bedding never became diverse! When I was young, I wanted bedding that expressed my moods, but everything I found was dull or seasonal.”
So while home decor may not be the trendiest thing to teens, Elisa believes Teenlike can break the cycle of this view. “All of the members at Teenlike express their creative views,” says Garay. “We all want to reach out to a young audience, and with all of us contributing, an audience of many ages will be reached, and has been reached!”
Teenlike is an ongoing, online home decor design competition, where winning designs are printed on home decor products, including bedding and rugs.
