The easy-to-read prose and whimsical pictures pair up to teach children of all ages how to handle new experiences and separation without panicking.
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) September 29, 2011
English matron Mrs. Pinkelmeyer and her canine companion, Moopus McGlinden, travel to New York City for their next adventure in the Mrs. Pinkelmeyer children’s book series. Their first challenge is to successfully get to the city, flying on an airplane across the Atlantic Ocean. Both are nervous about their trip because they have never left the small town of Poppingham. The plane ride goes smoothly – they even get to eat “Rrrrump Rrrroast,” a favorite of Mrs. Pinkelmeyer. But it’s not long before trouble comes their way. The two get separated at the airport when Moopus can’t wait to explore. It takes a hot dog vendor to reunite these fast friends.
Mrs. Pinkelmeyer and Moopus McGlinden Prance into New York City again features the colorful illustrations of Michael Swaim. The easy-to-read prose and whimsical pictures pair up to teach children of all ages how to handle new experiences and separation without panicking. Author Jennifer Kelman already is working on the next book in the series, which will feature another adventure in New York City.
Kelman has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from American University and a master’s degree in social work from New York University. The mother of twin toddlers has lectured on preventing eating disorders to more than 10,000 students and parents through a nonprofit organization she founded. She began improvising characters and creating silly voices while caring for her young nephew. Her first book, Mrs. Pinkelmeyer and Moopus McGlinden Burn the Rrrrump Rrrroast, earned the 2011 Parent Tested Parent Approved Media Award, and the characters have evolved to include plush dolls, music and other products, all of which have earned the “Product of the Year Award” from Creative Child Magazine.
