The Great Pumpkin Farm (http://www.greatpumpkinfarm.com/) has officially announced The Second Annual Great Pumpkin Farm World Hands-Free Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship which will take place on October 23, 2011 on The Great Pumpkin Farm grounds during their annual Fall Festival . All Pro Eating Promotions (http://www.competitiveeaters.com/) will be the official Competitive Eating Sanctioning Body of the event and handle all contest related activities including registration. The Great Pumpkin Farm World Hands-Free Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship will feature some of the top Competitive Eaters in the nation as the participants battle for $1,650.00 in prize money and a 1st Place prize of $800.00.
The Great Pumpkin Farm hosts one of the region’s largest and most amazing Fall Festivals between September 24th and October 31st that allows families and individuals to enjoy some of the best entertainment and fall activities in the area. The Great Pumpkin Farm’s Fall Festival provides a full day of fun for everyone with rides, games, food and entertainment.

All Pro Eating Promotions is expecting several Professional Competitive Eaters at the event including the current Hands-Free Pumpkin Pie World Record Holder and winner of last year’s event, Chris “The Mad Greek” Abatsas. Jammin’ Joe LaRue, last year’s second place finisher, will also be on hand to battle for both this year’s title and to write his name in the record book as the new world record holder. Not to be outdone, the Nation’s #1 Collegiate Competitive Eater, Eric “Silo” Dahl, will make his All Pro Eating Promotions debut as he aims to squash the competition and establish himself as the World’s #1 Hands-Free Pumpkin Pie eater. All Pro Eating Promotions and The Great Pumpkin Farm will provide an opportunity for all festival goers to qualify for the World Championship during regular Fall Festival events and also on October 22nd and 23rd. All Pro Eating Promotions will handle on-line registration for anyone who wants to participate in the World Hands-Free Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship. The Great Pumpkin Farm has several activities planned during their annual Fall Festival including the World Pumpkin Weigh-Off on October 1st and 2nd, Pumpkin Farm Olympics and Pumpkin Drop on October 8th, 9th and 10th, Ms. Pumpkin Pie Talent Contest on October 22nd and a blood drive on October 29th. Some of what The Great Pumpkin Farm features include amusement rides, a haunted house, a corn maze, hayrides, gem mining and some of the best pumpkin picking in the region.
