The Block at Orange will officially be rebranded as The Outlets at Orange, which will further cement the center’s significance as one of the leading open-air shopping, dining and entertainment destinations in Southern California. The new name will signify its distinction as the only outlet and value retail destination in Orange County, California.
“The Outlets at Orange will deliver a great mix of outlet retailers, as well as dining and entertainment choices, which aligns it better with The Mills’ overall unique brand of shopping,” said Gregg Goodman, President of the Mills. “With the growing number of outlet brands already open and coming soon to this property, the new name better reflects our vision, which will offer long term value to the tourism economy and the local market.”
Shoppers will begin to see the new branding elements over the next 30 days. Anticipated changes include new exterior signage, website, brochures and other promotional materials.
The Outlets at Orange, originally built in 1998, will continue to boast 800,000 square feet of retail space with nearly 100 recognized outlet and value retail stores, restaurants and family fun entertainment venues. As part of this transformation, a popular mix of designer name brand outlet stores, including Calvin Klein, DKNY Company Store, Tommy Hilfiger Company Store, Perry Ellis and Original Penguin have recently opened.
In addition, Esprit will open this fall, while Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) has announced plans to open a 35,000 square foot Nordstrom Rack at The Outlets at Orange during spring 2012. More stores will be announced at a later date.
As part of the rebranding, shoppers will enjoy improved access and amenities. A new entrance from the 22 Freeway will provide more direct access into the center. New tower signage will be updated to reflect the new name and provide increased visibility from the freeway. Other customer amenities will further enhance the overall shopping experience, including newly-renovated restrooms, which will be completed by 2012.
