Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 16, 2011
AboveStress, Inc., has announced today that the Stress Tracker mobile app is now available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android phones. The Stress Tracker app provides an easy and simple way for individuals to track and identify their stress triggers and optionally share that information with their health care professionals, enabling more effective care and treatment.
“According to a study by the American Academy of Family Physicians, 43 percent of all adults suffer adverse health effects related to stress," said Dr. Mike Zhang, CEO of AboveStress, Inc. “We want to help change that.”
“Most people think reducing stress is something they’ll do when they get time to do it, but it seems one never gets that time,” Zhang said. “We thought one of the most effective stress reduction tools we could offer would be something integrated with the smart phone, that helps people become more aware of stress and in turn, take concrete steps to reduce it.”
The iPhone and Android Stress Tracker app allows individuals to monitor their stress levels throughout the day and follow a series of prompts to document their unique sources of stress, symptoms of stress, and various issues of vulnerability to stress. A broad range of engaging emoticons is also included to help users describe moods and feelings. Users can view trends, reactions and specific events that can lead them to feel “stressed-out.”
The Stress Tracker application places individuals firmly in control of documenting their own reactions to stress. It helps users obtain better insight into gaining control of the stress in their lives and managing it efficiently. It also provides health care professionals with the means to obtain and monitor a detailed client stress history for an improved quality of care.
“Stress is an additive phenomenon and It impacts every facet of body and mind. The sources of stress can include work, financial difficulties, environmental factors, family issues and personal problems. The Stress Tracker helps individuals lower their stress levels every day,” said Dr. Lyle Miller, VP of research and development at AboveStress, Inc.
