"Our goal has always been to offer true community ticketing." -- Brown Paper Tickets CEO Steve Butcher
Seattle (PRWEB) September 15, 2011
Today, September 15, Hispanic and Latino communities gain a new ally as Brown Paper Tickets announces the launch of new Spanish-language ticketing services and Spanish-language website (es.brownpapertickets.com). This launch marks the first time the company's full ticketing service suite has been offered in Spanish to event producers. In honor of National Hispanic Heritage month, the company is offering free English to Spanish translations of event descriptions for the first week of the new launch.
Rather than simply publishing a translated website, Brown Paper Tickets has dedicated great resources to serve and support Spanish-speaking communities, estimated at over 45 million people strong in the US alone by the last census. This includes engagement via Spanish-language social media accounts and by partnering with Spanish-speaking organizations that actively work with the community. The company has also appointed a Hispanic Outreach Manager with a mission to create a cohesive and self-supporting network of producers, artists, performers, and ticket buyers in the Spanish-speaking community. Plus, a seasoned staff of native Spanish speakers are available 24/7 to help out with selling tickets, as well as posting and promoting events.
“Part of our goal has always been to offer true community ticketing. Live events define a community and create chances for other cultures to learn about and enjoy each other,” said Brown Paper Tickets CEO Steve Butcher. “As a part of our commitment to being a good citizen and following our Not-Just-For-Profit vision, we see these new services as an excellent way to empower a huge group of under-served people. We've learned that a majority of Hispanic Americans are very active online, yet there is a dearth of content and services designed expressly with their needs in mind. We're hoping to fill that void and give these groups the tools they need to independently host events and sell tickets.”
These services are not limited to the Spanish-speaking community in the United States. Brown Paper Tickets is available globally, whether in North America, South America, Europe or beyond. Brown Paper Tickets has offered 24/7 ticket-buyer support for three years, as well as client services for Spanish-speaking producers.
